Sankirtana Das is a sacred storyteller, award-winning author, workshop leader, and theater director who presents the timeless narratives of the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Krishna Katha within the Vaishnava/Krishna tradition. A disciple of Srila Prabhupada, he and his wife are among the senior residents of the New Vrindaban Community, where he also offers in-depth cultural and historical tours.
Holding a B.A. in Theater from CUNY, Sankirtana integrates the artistry of performance with the depth of Vedic wisdom. He is a recipient of the West Virginia Artist Fellowship Award & Grant and has shared his storytelling and workshops in schools, colleges, churches, libraries, museums, and conferences across the country.
Over the years, he has presented the sacred epics and teachings of the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Bhagavata Purana at major gatherings, including the Parliament of the World’s Religions Centennial Event (1993), Revisiting the Indus-Sarasvati Civilization (1996), Religious Communications Congress (2000), Dharma Conference (2003), National Storytelling Conference (2006), and Unity Day at the WV FBI Center (2006).
