Bio: Pioneering African Vaiṣṇava Leader, Vedic Publisher, and Global Ambassador of Bhakti Culture.
Īśvara Dāsa, also known as Ishmael Adebisi, is a pioneering leader in ISKCON, an accomplished Vedic publisher, and an international ambassador of Vaiṣṇava culture. Born in Nigeria into a royal lineage, he became one of the earliest African devotees to join ISKCON in 1977 and played a formative role in establishing the movement across West and Southern Africa.
For nearly five decades, his work has extended across continents through preaching, scholarship, cultural outreach, and dialogue with diplomats, scholars, and public leaders. A lifelong student of Sanskrit and Vaiṣṇava theology, he has dedicated his life to sharing the philosophical and devotional teachings of the Vedic tradition with audiences around the world.
As the founder of Touchstone Media, based in Vrindavan, Īśvara Dāsa has produced carefully researched and beautifully presented editions of sacred texts, including the Ramayana, Bhagavata Purana, and a major edition of the Ramcharitmanas. Through his books, lectures, and ongoing publishing work, he continues to preserve and present the wisdom of the Vaiṣṇava lineage in an authentic and inspiring form.
