SHOBHA SWAMY

Educator • Speaker • Advocate for Hindu Parenting & Dharmic Leadership

Shobha Swamy is a Hindu American educator, speaker, and community leader who has lived, worked, and raised a family in the United States for over 30 years. Born in India, she has devoted her life to bridging the wisdom of Sanātana Dharma with the realities of modern life in the West.

As the Co-Founder and General Secretary of CoHNA (Coalition of Hindus of North America), she advocates for an inclusive, merit-based society that upholds personal responsibility, strength, and resilience—while dismantling disempowering narratives. Her focus on Hindu parenting, next-generation mentoring, and cultural literacy has made her a vital voice in both grassroots initiatives and national dialogues.

A certified yoga and plant-based nutrition instructor, Shobha leads healthy living workshops at Morehouse School of Medicine and offers transformative sessions that connect ancient Vedic practices—such as pranayama and dhyana—to everyday life. She frequently speaks at community centers, civic organizations, companies, and libraries on topics including:

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion from a Dharmic lens
  • The dignity of the individual & personal responsibility
  • Vedic ideals for society
  • Why meritocracy matters
  • What is Hindu Dharma?
  • Taking your yoga deeper
  • How can a civilization with over 10,000 years of history remain relevant today?

Deeply engaged in service, Shobha volunteers with organizations such as AIM for Seva, Sewa International, and Feeding GA Families, and serves on several non-profit boards across the U.S.
